A 27-year-old man flew to Jackson to meet a teen he met online. During his stay, the teen’s parents discovered Kameron E. Tolbert of Peoria, Arizona in their home.
On August 22, Jackson County Sheriff Tedd E. Frazier’s Deputies were alerted that a man broke a bedroom window and fled. The man was suspected of sexually assaulting a juvenile in the home.
Deputies identified the suspect’s vehicle. On August 23, deputies contacted Jackson High School employees about Tolbert, who had disappeared the night before. Shortly after, JHS personnel reported that the 2022 white Toyota Rav4 was in the parking lot. A School Resource Officer detained and arrested Tolbert without incident.
Tolbert admitted he met the teen online 6 months ago. Discord and Google Photos were used to communicate. On August 20, he flew to Columbus to meet the teen in person. He admitted having sex with the teen.
Tolbert is charged with third-degree Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor. Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office may add charges to Tolbert’s case. His court date is September 29 at 9 a.m. in Jackson County.
“We applaud Jackson High School’s diligence,” said Sheriff Frazier.
