A Scioto County Deputy sprang into action to save the life of an overdose victim. Deputies armed with Narcan are on the front line of the war against addiction in the county. They are often the first on the scene, and in the wake of the area’s ambulance shortage, it’s a blessing that they carrying life-saving Naracan.
Just before 8 p.m., a caller reported a possible overdose on Henley Comstock Road.
Dispatch sent out three alerts attempting to get an ambulance to the scene. Fortunately, a deputy arrived just 7 minutes later and administered a nose of Narcan.
When that didn’t work, a second dose was given to the victim. When an ambulance arrived, it transported the overdose victim to the hospital for treatment.
