Around 2 am, a caller contacted PPD to say they’d spotted someone breaking into the Christian Baptist Church and stealing items.
When officers arrived, they found a homeless woman had set up camp on the property. She claimed the pastor gave her a tarp. Officers were unable to contact anyone from the church and noted that the woman appeared to be suffering from mental health issues.
The woman was homeless, hungry, and had been bitten by a dog. Officers offered to take her to a homeless shelter, but she refused and agreed to gather her belongings and move along.
Officers checked the church and found all of the doors were secure.
