Officers dealt with multiple issues involving homeless individuals over the weekend, including a family that apparently moved into a car wash.
A worried caller reported a woman wrapped up a blanket behind the 6th Street Carryout around 8 am. When officers responded to the store, they found that the woman was fine. She had just been sleeping.
Around 7 pm, neighbors said a man and woman had been parked in a vehicle at a car wash for a day or so and appeared to be living in the vehicle. They said they’d heard people walking around their property overnight and believed it was the people in the car.
Deputies spoke with the owner of the car wash, who asked officers to tell the people to leave. When police spoke to the pair, they said they were homeless and living in the car until the man got paid later in the week. Police advised them to leave.
