Officers responded to Sciotodale for a report of an argument between a mom and daughter over the daughter’s drug treatment plans.
The grandmom was trying to take custody of her two-year-old grandchild. She told officers the daughter was on drugs. The pair admitted they got into a scuffle and pushed each other, but neither wanted to press charges.
Deputies spoke to Scioto County CPS, but since the mother’s address was listed as Coal Grove, they told officers to call Lawrence County CPS.
The daughter told officers she had checked into Stepping Stones rehab with the child a few days ago, but felt uncomfortable having the child with her at a treatment program, so she left and went to the child’s paternal grandmother’s house. She wasn’t sure where the child’s father was.
She agreed to let her mother take the child to Kentucky with her and said she would make arrangements to check into treatment.
