Erman “Junior” Coleman, 86, of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at his home. He was born May 28, 1938, in Scioto County to the late Erman and Marie Coleman.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Coleman; 2 sisters, Phyllis Coleman and Joann (Don) Bradley; brother, David (Margaret) Coleman; and a son-in-law, Allen Allegra.
He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and retired after 40 years. He was also a member of Old Town Methodist Church. Junior loved golf, riding his bike and gator around, and spending time with his family.
Junior is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Lou Rice Coleman, whom he married November 17, 1956, 4 daughters; Barbara (David) Brill, Kathy Coleman Allegra, Krisanne (Andrew) Naudin, Nicole (Adam) Brown, a brother, Kenneth (Linda) Coleman, 2 sisters; Judy (Dwight) Church and Debbie Ellis, grandchildren; Jonathan (Darcy) Allegra, Lexi Allegra, Kate (Michael) Kehoe, Gabe Naudin, Laura (Mathew) Blevins, Wade (Ellen Kate) Brill and Carter Brown, great grandchildren; Cade Chisholm, Aden Allegra, Ace Allegra and Shepherd Allegra, special friends; Christy Bays, Jennifer Pertuset, Wilma James, Kim Greenhill and Lillie Brown.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
