Charles Pratt Jr., a beloved brother, uncle cousin and friend, as well as a member of the Portsmouth community, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on August 23, 1959, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to his parents, Charles and Wanda Pratt. He spent his life dedicated to his work as a construction laborer, proudly serving the City of Portsmouth as part of Laborers Local #83.
A graduate of Portsmouth High School in 1977, Charles carried the values of hard work and determination throughout his life. He had a deep passion for sports, and enjoyed watching football and baseballe particularly OSU and the Cincinnati Reds. He spent his life dedicated to his work as a construction laborer, proudly serving the City of Portsmouth as part of Laborers Local #83. He enjoyed reading, watching westerns and spending time outdoors, where he found solace and adventure.
Charles cherished time spent with his family. particularly Bible study with his beloved nephew, Andrew. His warm heart and genuine kindness touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Wanda Pratt and his brother and best friend, Hary Lee Pratt.
Charles is survived by his two brothers: Frank (Monica) Pratt of West Portsmouth, Randy (Kim) Pratt of Mc Dermott, two sisters: Brenda Pratt of Portsmouth and Jeanie Pratt of Lucasville, and many nieces, nephews cousins and friends who will carry on his legacy of love and laughter.
In honoring his wishes, there will be no services for Charles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charles’s memory to a Sierra’s Haven, 80 Easter Drive, Portsmouth, OH 45662.
