Richard D Cook, 83 of Portsmouth passed away Thursday December 5, 2024 at Portsmouth Health and Rehab. He was born July 24, 1941 to the late Forrest R. and Gladys Opal Swim Cook. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his two infants Greg and Beth, and his most loyal companion Alex.
Dick was a 1959 graduate of Portsmouth West High School, he worked at his family business Truck & Tractor Garage, Elks Country Club, Portsmouth Raceway Park, and Boone Coleman Construction. He was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 154, a scout leader and was the Portsmouth West Senior League Girls Softball coach.
Dick is survived by his wife, Vicki Christian Cook, a son Richard Scott (Charlotte) Cook of Hippo, Kentucky, a daughter Gabrielle Webb of West Portsmouth, his grandchildren: Baylee, Wyatt, and Rudy Webb of West Portsmouth, a brother Darrell R. (Diann) Cook of Portsmouth, sister in law and brother in law, Bill (Linda) Nichols of Peebles, his childhood best friend Frank Peters, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
