A disabled child, whose mom is currently in a Columbus hospital for a serious medical issue, was caught in the middle of two feuding siblings on Saturday.
Officers were initially called to the brother’s home around 7 pm. He said the child was left in his care, and now his sister had shown up wanting to take the child and care for it.
CPS informed officers they’d placed the child in the man’s care. However, police learned that the man had an open warrant, so they took him into custody.
CPS sent workers home to take custody of the child. Officers booked the man into the Scioto County Jail.
CPS called the police back to the home about two hours later, saying they were having issues with family members. Officers assisted in clearing the scene.
They were called back to the home the next day when a woman asked them to stand by while she entered her mother’s home to get some items to take to her mother in the hospital. Police observed while she collected the property.
