Nancy A. Imm, 90, of Wheelersburg, passed away peacefully at SOMC Hospice on January 31, 2025. Born in Athens, Ohio, on March 1, 1934, to John and Elizabeth (Steele) Maxwell, Nancy was a dedicated educator who spent her career teaching at Portsmouth schools and retired from Harding Elementary in Sciotoville.
A graduate of Ohio University with a degree in Education, Nancy was passionate about learning and shared her love for reading as a storytime reader in children’s classes. She was a cherished member of Christ Global Church in Sciotoville. Nancy found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, solving crossword puzzles, and visiting the library.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Laura (Scott) Campbell of Portsmouth, daughter-in-law, Keri Imm of Wheelersburg and her beloved grandchildren, Collin Hanzel, Marley Hanzel, Chloe Imm, and Elise Jackson, as well as her bonus grandchildren, Carter and Lauren Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Imm, son, Thomas Imm, brother, Wilson Carr, and sister, Marian Bricker. Nancy’s legacy of love and learning will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral Service will be Monday, February 03, 2025, 1:00 PM at D.W. Swick Funeral Home (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville. Visitation will be from 12-1:00 PM prior to the service. Private family interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to SOMC Hospice in honor of Nancy Imm.
