Mary Ada McClaskey, 78, of Port Saint Lucie, FL, formerly of Wheelersburg, passed away Tuesday June 17, 2025 at her home in Florida. She was born May 22, 1947 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Bonnie (Carr) Smith.
She was a former Ohio Department of Transportation employee, a former volunteer with the Porter Township Rescue Squad, a former employee for the Wheelersburg School District and worked at the Tan Lan Pool. She coached softball, played in the Portsmouth City League and loved to bowl.
Mary is survived by two sons, John Silvey Jr and wife Angel of Wheelersburg , Tim Silvey and wife Lisa of Miami, FL; a daughter, Lisa Meyers of Port Saint Lucie, FL; three sisters, Donna Holcomb and husband Jim of South Shore, KY, Julia Smith of Illinois and Laoma Spradlin of Wheelersburg; a brother, Billy Perkins and wife Darlene of Portsmouth; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by husbands, Robert McClaskey and Clyde Meadows, brother, Roscoe “Bub” Smith; sisters, Shirley Cortez, Shelby Jean Gilcrest, Elaine Bailey, Louise McClaskey and Mary Catherine Smith.
Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday June 25, 2025 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE under the direction of the D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg.
