It was a busy stretch for Scioto County officers, as three separate teen-related incidents — spanning social media drama, sexting concerns, and a serious assault allegation — kept law enforcement moving from Minford to Northwest schools and beyond.
💬 1. Social Media Fight Escalates Into Police Report
Officers were first called to Minford, where a girl reported she was being threatened online by another teen.
She told officers the other girl made Facebook posts she believed were targeted at her.
But police say:
- There were no direct threats
- No evidence of messages being sent
- The conflict started at East Schools
- Portsmouth PD has already been involved
- The reporting party is in the process of seeking a CPO (civil protection order)
Officers documented the incident and advised her to keep records of any future posts.
📵 2. Northwest High School Sexting Scare
At Northwest High School, staff reported concerns about inappropriate sexting that may have happened between two teens over the summer.
Officers spoke with one teen and their guardian, who insisted that nothing explicit was ever sent and that the teens had since broken up.
Police then checked in with the other teen involved to ensure no inappropriate pictures existed.
School officials met with both sets of parents, and officers took information for a report.
🚨 3. Teen Reports Being Inappropriately Touched
In a separate case, officers responded to a complaint that a 16-year-old had been inappropriately touched by an 18-year-old.
Deputies contacted the victim’s probation officer and documented the incident for further investigation.
From online threats to digital mistakes to serious physical allegations teen-related calls are increasing — and often crossing from school problems into police matters.
Parents are encouraged to:

✔️ Keep open communication
