What started with kids yelling insults quickly escalated into damaged vehicles — and a situation that didn’t end when everyone walked away.
By the time deputies were called, the argument was over… but the damage was just being discovered.
According to a report from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a Chesapeake-area complaint after a woman said two juveniles had been yelling at her while she was outside.
She told deputies the boys made comments about her appearance before she left the area with her boyfriend. As they were leaving, the yelling continued, and her boyfriend briefly confronted the juveniles before they ran off.
Later that day, when she returned home, she found damage to two vehicles. She said several tires had been thrown into the vehicles, causing visible damage to the driver’s side.
She told deputies she later spoke with the juveniles’ parent but felt the situation wasn’t taken seriously.
Deputies made contact with the juveniles and their guardian. The boys denied the tires struck the vehicles, but deputies said the damage appeared consistent with what was reported.
Charges are being filed, and the case remains under investigation.
