Carl L. Collins, 86, of South Shore, KY., passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Portsmouth Health & Rehab in Portsmouth, OH. He was born in Garrison, KY., January 10, 1939 a son of the late Noel and Milldred Payton Collins.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Anna Ruth Rollins Collins; one sister, Christina Baker; one son-in-law, Jeff Smith and friend, Michael Carver.
Carl was a United States Army Veteran. He loved yard work, Bingo, going to Casinos, loved telling stories from his heydays, never met a stranger that he didn’t love to talk with and traveling coast to coast.
Left behind to cherish his memory are two daughters, Carlena Smith and Ruth Collins both of South Shore, KY; one brother, David Collins; five sisters, Faith Stump, Joan Clark, Hope Atwood, Gay Sabia and Joy Tice; six grandchildren, Sabrina (David) Koester, Tabby (Todd) Selvage, Jessica (Alex) Forbes, Johnny Miller, Jenny (Ethan) Morgan and Janette (Nathan) Sutton; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jonah Koester, Liam Selvage, Madison Forbes, Mason Forbes, Mavrik Forbes, Myla Forbes, Ethan Ray Morgan, Emmit Morgan, Ellie Morgan, Ezra Morgan, Anastasia Ray Miller, Sam Sutton and Spencer Sutton. Along with his best friends, Bo (Linda) Carver and Leelah Carver, also several other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Pastor Roger Bonzo officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday at the funeral home from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
