Christopher Matthew King, 43, of Portsmouth, died Monday, July 8, 2024, at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born March 11, 1981, in Portsmouth to Kimberly Craig King and the late Thomas R. King.
Chris was an avid bowler and rolled his perfect game at the age of 15. He was fascinated with other cultures and enjoyed researching them, but above all, he adored his two kids.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Joyce Craig and Russ and Betty King.
Chris is survived by his mother, Kim King of Portsmouth, two children, Mason Adams and Macie Adams, both of Wheelersburg, a brother, Craig King (Jordan Merkle) of Huntington, W.V., his uncle, Scott Craig (Kandi) of Portsmouth, his aunt Rhonda Miller (Rick) of Columbus. Chris is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Katilyn Darnell (Nathan), Cameron King, Alexis King, and Taylor Halderman, and great-nieces and great-nephews, Aria, Eliza, Ezra, and Grayson, and several cousins.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A visitation for friends and family will be two hours before the service, starting at 1:00 P.M.
