A woman called PPD at 1 pm to report a stolen rental vehicle. She said she’d allowed someone to use her rental car. The person was supposed to drop it off earlier in the week, but she’d spotted the vehicle driving around Wayne Hills.
She said that when she spoke to the person, they told her they had returned the car, but the rental company called a few days later, saying it was missing.
Police spoke to the rental car company. They said they weren’t at the point where they would report the vehicle stolen, but that they would notify police when the time came.

Two hours later, an officer spotted the rental vehicle parked on 7th Street. They contacted the woman who rented the vehicle and she came to pick it up.
