Deputies responded to a local school after educators reported an out-of-control student.
They said the child was fighting, refusing to do anything adults told him to do. When a deputy arrived at the school, the child hit, kicked, and attempted to bite the officers and school staff.
Deputies called for an ambulance and had to accompany the child on the ride because it was still quite combative. EMS transported the child to SOMC for treatment.
Dispatch received an emergency alarm around noon from another local school. When they called back, they were told they didn’t need 9-1-1. A student had called in the alert.
Officers still responded to do a walkthrough but learned a child was having an outburst. The staff calmed the child down, and his family picked him up.
