Portsmouth police were called to Frank & Steins Lounge on consecutive nights for reports of violence, adding to a string of recent trouble at the bar.
Just after 2 am during the first incident, a man reported that he had been assaulted inside the bar.
The victim did not need medical treatment.
Police detained William Mollett and later took him into custody.
Mollett was booked into the Scioto County Jail on a charge of felonious assault.
He also has an open assault case dating back to August of last year in Portsmouth Municipal Court and has previous arrests involving criminal damaging.
Mollett later appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court, where the court ordered that he remain in jail under bond.
He is presumed innocent on the new charge unless and until proven guilty in court.
Police Back at the Bar the Next Night
Around 2 am the following night, officers were called back to Frank & Steins for another report of a fight, this time near the rear of the bar.
Police responded to the area around Frank & Steins and the neighboring Toro Loco parking lot.
Two women were detained during the investigation.
The police log shows the women were later released, although one woman was subsequently transported by an officer. No charge was listed in the information provided.
The two calls come as Frank & Steins has already been the location of several recent violent incidents.
