Things got weird in the neighborhood, and one local grandma wasn’t having it.
Just before 4 p.m., a worried woman on 8th Street called police to report a man acting strangely around her home. She said he kept coming around and—creepily—blowing kisses at her grandchildren. By the time officers arrived, the man had vanished into thin air.
Just two hours later, more reports rolled in. This time, callers spotted a shirtless, heavily tattooed man walking south on Grandview Avenue, talking to himself and acting suspiciously. Witnesses said the man looked like he might be high on drugs.
When officers tracked him down, they discovered he’d recently been released from the hospital. While they didn’t find signs of intoxication, they noted he appeared to be severely mentally ill.
So, what should you do if someone gives off seriously sketchy vibes?
Here’s how to stay safe and help your community:
🔹 Don’t engage – Avoid confrontation. Stay inside or in a safe place.
🔹 Call 911 immediately – Provide as much detail as possible: location, clothing, behavior.
🔹 Record from a distance if safe – A video or photo can help officers identify someone.
🔹 Trust your gut – If something feels off, it probably is. It’s better to report and be wrong than ignore and regret.
Suspicious behavior doesn’t always mean criminal intent, but police would rather check it out than miss something serious. Stay alert, stay safe—and keep those creepy kiss-blowers away from the grandkids!
