Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies were called in to handle multiple out-of-control kids.
Early Friday morning, a West Portsmouth parent said a child had assaulted their brother and then made threats to harm herself. The officers said this was not the first time the girl had attacked her brother. When police got to the scene, the family denied there’d been any physical altercation and said everything was fine and the children were getting ready for school.
Just before 2 pm, a Valley parent said someone threatened his child on the school bus. He was upset because the school had refused to take action over the incident. Deputies took information for a report.
Deputies were also called to Minford after a report that a girl was assaulted by a teen boy on the school bus. When deputies investigated, they learned the problems started when the girl brought a water pellet gun on the bus and got into an argument with two boys. One of the boys punched her in the shoulder, and that was caught on video. No one wanted to press charges.
Just after 9 pm, West Portsmouth parents reported a child was trying to fight people, damaging vehicles, and had taken a bottle of pills. Officers and EMTs responded to the area, located the child, and transported him to the hospital for treatment.
Just after 1 pm on Sunday, a caller said his juvenile son was fighting with him and then took off from the family home. Deputies searched the area for the boy, but he eventually returned home. Police took the child into custody, fingerprinted him, and released him back to his family.
A grandmother contacted officers Just before 7 pm on Sunday to say one of the grandkids was damaging her home. She said the child had refused to take his medication. When a deputy arrived at the home, the child calmed down and agreed to take his medication.
