Scioto County Deputies were called in to assist in an argument over some cows. A man called officers saying that he needed to pick up a dozen head of cattle. He explained that he needed an escort as things may not go smoothly.
When officers spoke to the people who owned the property where the cows were located, they said the herd belonged to their daughter in exchange for some property, but they had not yet been paid for the care and feeding of the cows and didn’t want the man on their property.
The man admitted he did owe for feeding the cows and that he had other property belonging to the man. Officers learned the pair had gone into a hay business together, and things hadn’t gone well.
Dispatch did check with the USDA about the proper procedure for a cow dispute and advised the man it was all a matter for civil court.
