A shoplifting suspect put up one heck of a fight after she was caught in the act at the Oasis Convenient Mart around 4 pm.
The store called 9-1-1 to report that a woman who’d been in there shoplifting a couple of days before was back and up to her old tricks. Employees said they were holding the door to stop her from leaving, but she was putting up a fight.
An officer cuffed the woman and put her in the back of a cruiser, but she got out and took off running. Police caught up with her near the Sunset Lanes. She ended up with a small cut. Portsmouth Fire Department medics treated her on the scene.

Officers booked Faith Gerber into the Scioto County Jail on charges of theft, obstructing official business, and escape.
