Harold John Meldick, 83, of Oak Hill passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at Adena Health System in Chillicothe. He was born December 1, 1941, in Scioto County, son of the late Phil Raynard and Ona Ellen (Shoemaker) Meldick. Harold was a farmer, founding member of Hamilton Township Volunteer Fire Department in Jackson County since 1980, and was a US Air Force veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Harold Meldick, Jr. “Dusty”, Shane Meldick; two daughters, Sandie (Andy) Lewis, Karen Fulkerson; twelve grandchildren, Emily (Kyle) Clevinger, Maggie (Eric) Huffman, Gerald (Fuzzy) Tamar Fulkerson, Stephanie Fulkerson, Christopher McFadden, Zach Parker, Jesse (Kenzie) Parker, AJ (Megan) Meldick, Abby (Luke) Fryman, Ally Meldick, Jen Meldick, Andy Meldick; fourteen great grandchildren, and one sister, Shirley (Lowell) Sharp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Ann Bays.
Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Friday, August 8, 2025, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Dennis Evans officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson.
