Officers investigated multiple incidents involving homeless individuals and panhandlers.
A witness called police at 3 pm to report an aggressive panhandler at the corner of 11th and Chillicothe Street. The caller said a man approached her vehicle and yelled at her, demanding that she give him money because his wife wrecked his car. Officers spoke to the man, and he agreed to move along.
Around 5:30 pm, police were called to the levee behind Bob & Floyd Tire Sales after City Flood Defense advised homeless campers had put up a tent on top of the levee. Officers spoke to the camper who was drying out their tent. They agreed to move it.
At 6:30 pm a business owner called 911 to report a homeless man was sleeping in the entrance of their business on the Esplanade, and they were afraid to leave. An officer advised the man, who had a California identification, to move along, and he complied.
