Employees from Penn Station Subs called police to report that a child had come into the shop alone and told workers she was hungry. They said she’d ridden her bike to the restaurant, and they were now feeding her a free lunch.
Officers spoke to the child and took her back to her home in Farley Square. Her guardian said the child had permission to ride her bike to the pool, and they had no idea she’d gone to the sandwich shop.
However, since this was the second time in a month the child had shown up looking for food at the restaurant, officers decided to forward the case to CPS for further investigation.
