Officers arrested a 43-year-old man for child endangerment and OVI after a caller reported some strange behavior on Junor Furnace-Powell Road.
The witness said a car drove by his house slowly, tried to come up the driveway, pulled out quickly, and wrecked in a nearby cornfield.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a man with a child in the car. Police said he appeared intoxicated, and they found an open container in the vehicle.
An OSP trooper took the man for a sobriety test while officers attempted to get in touch with someone to come pick up the child. Police were finally able to locate the child’s grandmother. The child left something behind in the car, but officers were able to retrieve it and take it to her.
Police arrested Joshua Collins for OVI and child endangerment.

Collins has previous arrests for driving under a suspended license, drug abuse, and probation violation.
An officer was injured on the call and went to KDMC to get checked out.
