Cry For Help
A worried daughter contacted police just before 3 pm to report her mother was threatening to commit suicide.
She’d taken her homeless mother in the night before and suspected that her mother was doing ice and meth. Fire Department medics transported the woman to SOMC for treatment.
Grand Theft Auto
At 3:30 pm, a Park Avenue caller reported a black Dodge Challenger stolen from while parked in front of the address.
Fifteen minutes later, PPD learned the reporting party’s father had noticed he left the vehicle running in front of the address and driven it around the block to teach him a lesson.
Man Tries To Kick In Sister’s Door
A Summit Street woman contacted police at 5:22 to report her brother attempted to kick in her door. Their mother lives with her and the man sometimes comes to visit but has destroyed property in the past.
Police advised her to get a protection order.
PMHA Parking Crackdown
Just after 6:30 pm, police spoke to the owners of a vehicle parked in the grass of a Thomas Avenue Apartment building. They said they would move the vehicle.
At 9:30 pm, they cited a Dodge Challenger parked in a handicapped spot on Wayne Avenue. No placard was displayed. The owner told officers she was just there to get her hair braided and that she’d had knee surgery a month ago. Officers had the vehicle towed.
Man Tries to Crawl Through McDonald’s Drive-Thru
Just before 10 pm, police were called to McDonald’s for a report of a man behaving bizarrely. Employees said he yelled at the staff and attempted to force himself through the window.
He was refusing to leave the premises. By the time police arrived, he was gone.
Business Window Busted Out
Just after 11 pm, officers responded to Gallia Street for a report of a window busted out at Portsmouth Nutrition.
Officers contacted the owner in Circleville, who was en route to the scene with surveillance footage. A glass company agreed to come out after hours to fix the window.
