Nora Ellen Easter, 97 of Friendship, died Friday. June 20, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. She was born May 9, 1928 in Wayne, West Virginia to the late Paul and Blanche Jarrell Perry.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leroy R. Easter, whom she married on November 26, 1947, son in law Gaylord Gilley, daughter in law, Vicki Easter, grandson Bobby Gilley and 6 siblings; Peg Kennedy, Homer Perry, Mid Howell, Louella Entler infant sister Wilma June Perry and Patty Coleman.
Nora was a homemaker, a loving a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her home. She loved making quilts, she made one for all her family. She loved picking black berries and also making apple butter. She was a big fan of the Cincinnati Reds. She was also a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
Nora is survived by 2 sons: Dale (Carol) Easter and Rick (Kathy) Easter, a daughter Cheryl Gilley (Dave) Kirk, 2 grandchildren; Becky (Dave) Melick and Loren (Melissa) Easter, a granddaughter in law, Andrea Gilley, 8 great grandchildren: Savannah, Noah, Levi, Lorann, Courtney, Dylan, Cole and Maddie.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Tom Williams officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 11:00 AM.
