Ohio wants your help in tracing cases of COVID-19. The state is hiring work-from-home contact tracers at $18.59 an hour.
Governor Mike DeWine didn’t hold a press conference on Wednesday. He will be back tomorrow and is expected to make some important announcements about opening the state back up. One key element of Ohio’s reopening is testing for Coronavirus and tracing the contacts of those who test positive.
Here’s where the case count stands:
- Suspected Cases – 21,576
Confirmed Cases – 20, 625 - Hospitalizations – 4, 052
ICU Admissions – 1,151 - Suspected Deaths – 1,225
Confirmed Deaths – 1,114 - Scioto County – 12 suspected 1 probable
Governor DeWine said, “Now more than ever, Ohio needs people who can make a difference. Consider joining the Ohio Department of Health as a temporary COVID-19 contact tracer. This is primarily a work-from-home position but may involve some travel around the state.”
Here’s what you need to know about the jobs available:
Position
- Pay – $18.59 an hour
- Schedule – part-time for the next 12 to 18 months
- Location – mostly telework from home with some traveling required for in person interviews.
The Work
- Call contacts of newly diagnosed cases and follow script to inform them
- Be polite and professional
- Collect information on symptoms
- Provide information about Ohio quarantine procedures and refer for testing
Requirements
- Must be able to use a telephone, computer, and electronic equipment to capture data
- Maintain daily contact with supervisor
- Experience in medial or related field or interviewing technique preferred
- 9 months experience in office work, public relations, or customer services
- At least 9 months experience typing, data entry, word processing, or PC use
