A man on parole for burglary decided to return to old habits and got tasered for his trouble on Mother’s Day in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Just after 10 am, Portsmouth Police received a report of a man shoplifting in the Family Dollar Store on 11th Street.
When officers arrived on the scene, he took off, but the police gave chase. Two officers deployed tasers to take down Luke Ziminski, 26.
After an ambulance checked him out, officers charged him with theft, obstructing official business, and escape and took him to the Scioto County Jail.
This isn’t Ziminski’s first brush with the law. He was convicted back in 2019 of burglary and sentenced to Warren Correctional Institution. The parole board granted him parole in January of 2021. Parole has not gone smoothing, however.
Ziminski was arrested for parole violations in November of 2021 and in February and April of this year.
