A local school launched a search for a weapon after a first-grader made a disturbing claim. The child reported speaking with a high school boy on the bus who may have had a weapon. The child only had a first name for the teen.
Deputies contacted the principals at both the vocational school and West High School. Officers also contacted the transportation supervisor who spoke with the bus driver.
Police found the boy whose first name matched the one reported by the child, and the assistant principal at his school checked his locker and his person. The investigation determined that there were 3 possible male high school students who could have been on the bus.
After officials investigated the other students and school officials checked the buildings, it was determined that the call was unfounded.
