Officers responded to an unusual report at Gleim Cemetery, which is located on a hill off Goose Creek Rd., just past Dold Rd., in Porter Township. A caller said there was a woman screaming and crying who didn’t speak English, and they had no idea what was going on.
A few minutes later, a caller explained that the woman was suffering from dementia and her family members were trying to get her to go home. However, she was fighting them and had chosen to lie down in the middle of the road.
Officers and EMS workers managed to get the woman into an ambulance and take her back home. She refused medical treatment, but EMS workers said her vitals were fine.
Her son came from Huntington to assist and everyone working together managed to get her into the house safe and sound.
