Just before 11 am, officers received a report of a break-in at a Brant Avenue home.
Residents told officers someone broke into a truck, took the key to a safe in the garage, and then stole a loaded Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol from the safe.
The resident believed a woman the man knew but hadn’t had contact with was responsible for the crime. Apparently, she had some type of relationship with the man’s roommate while he was out of town.
Officers took information for a report.
Mystery Break-In on Mound Street
A caller reported a bizarre incident at a Mound Street home.
Just before 3 pm, the property owner received a text message saying a man had posted a picture of himself sitting inside their home.
Officers took a description of the home and went to check the 2-story home out about 5 minutes after the call came in.
Police said everything appeared secure, and there was no sign of entry to the home. They did, however, note that the front window was boarded up.
