Portsmouth police spent part of the day responding to a series of unusual calls from local businesses involving suspected drug activity, trespassing complaints, and a shirtless man dancing on a restaurant table.
📱 MYSTERY POWDER FOUND IN STORE RESTROOM
Officers were first called to the AT&T Wireless store on Gallia Street after a manager discovered a white powdery substance in the customer restroom.
According to the report, the manager had allowed a customer to use the restroom. After the customer left, employees found the substance on top of the toilet and contacted police.
Officers noted it appeared possible that customers had crushed or snorted some type of pill in the restroom, although the report makes clear that was only speculation.
The manager told officers the store would follow company policy and notify the customers that they were no longer welcome at the business.
🚫 POLICE RETURN TO AT&T
Just a few hours later, officers found themselves back at the same store.
This time, employees requested that a man be formally trespassed from the property.
Police issued the trespass warning and instructed the man to leave the area.
🕺 SHIRTLESS TABLE DANCER AT RALLY’S
Meanwhile, officers were called to Rally’s on Monroe Street after reports of a shirtless man dancing on a table.
Witnesses described the man as wearing only one shoe and having a tattoo on his back.
When officers arrived, they located the man and spoke with him about the complaint.
Rather than making an arrest, police said the man agreed to leave the property voluntarily.
🚔 NO JAIL, JUST A LOT OF WEIRD
Despite the unusual nature of the calls, none of the incidents resulted in criminal charges.
Still, it was enough to keep officers busy responding to complaints that ranged from suspected drug use in a restroom to a one-shoe table-dancing performance at a fast-food restaurant.
Just another day on the Portsmouth police blotter.
