Bike Thief Hits McDonald’s
Just before 1 am, a McDonald’s employee flagged down a Portsmouth Police Officer to report a bicycle theft. They said their bike was chained to a pole at the restaurant, and someone stole it while they were working.
The officer took information for a report.
Police Catch up With Speedway Shoplifter
Just after 9 am, Speedway employees reported a shoplifter had left the store and was now walking past the nearby Chinese Restaurant.
Officers caught up with the man near the car wash and took him back to the store. Police took information for a report.
Phone Thief Spotted at Speedway
A woman contacted PPD at 2:43 pm to report she’d spotted the man who stole her phone outside the Speedway on Gallia.
Witnesses said the man took off in the direction of Little Caesar’s and was with another man and a woman on a bicycle.
Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Man Arrested For Burglary on 9th Street
Police responded to 9th Street at 3:26 am, after a woman said her ex-boyfriend was attempting to get into her home.
Police detained the man in an alley and learned he had open warrants from both the Portsmouth Police Department and the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers took him into custody and booked him into the Scioto County Jail.
