Deputies responded to an area high school after a student allegedly made a disturbing threat.
A student had advised officials that another girl had told her she planned to make a shank and stab her to death. Several other students witnessed the threat and supplied statements to officers.
Officials said the girl who made the threat was currently on probation due to prior violent incidents on school grounds. Officers explained the process of filing a protection order to the student who was threatened.
School officials told the girl who allegedly made the threats to stay home while it was investigated.
Officers took information to a report to pass along to the Lawrence County Juvenile Probate Court.
