Suspicious Stranger Menaces Lucasville Neighborhood

A suspicious stranger menaced a Lucasville neighborhood. 

Around 4 pm, a Sedan Crabtree Road resident told police a strange man carrying a backpack opened her front door and claimed he needed to use the phone. The man’s backpack appeared to be full of tools.

Her son permitted the man to use the phone, but said he dialed what looked like a fake number. He walked away from the scene and headed up the road.

Thirty minutes later, another caller said the man was inside her home on Sedan Crabtree Road, but her grandson chased him off the property.

Deputies responded to the scene but could not locate the man.  

Copper Thief Tries Cutting Pipes Off Rosemount Home

A bold copper thief tried cutting the pipes out of an occupied Rosemont Home.

The resident contacted police at 1 am to say he heard someone under his trailer using a saw. The would-be thief ran off in the direction of the creek.

When officers arrived on the scene, the homeowner checked the area with a flashlight and told police he’d let them know what type of damage was done.

Officers checked the area but could not locate a suspect.

Manhunt after Suspect Runs From Wheelersburg Traffic Stop

A man turned a Wheelersburg traffic stop into a manhunt on Monday afternoon. A deputy pulled him over near the Marathon at Green and South Street just before 3 pm. 

That’s when the guy decided to take off on foot. Deputies described him as 5’9”, wearing a white shirt and red seats.

The Ohio State Patrol joined in the search for the man but deputies were unable to locate him.
