A heated argument over a woman spilled into the parking lot of a Gallia Street business around noon, prompting employees to call police after a man became aggressive and started making threats.
According to witnesses, two men were arguing outside when one of them—described as confrontational and angry—began directing his rage at his ex-girlfriend. As the situation escalated, several male employees stepped in, told the man to leave, and tried to defuse the situation.
Instead, witnesses say the man threatened to “kick their asses” before leaving the scene. Employees told officers they weren’t interested in pressing charges for the confrontation itself. Their main concern was the safety of the woman involved, who declined to speak with police at the scene.
Officers advised employees about available options, including a civil protection order for the woman and a trespass notice that could bar the man from returning to the business.
That advice turned out to be timely.
Around 2:30 p.m., the same man reportedly returned to the business—but left again before officers arrived. Employees told police they planned to keep the doors locked and would immediately call if he showed up again.
Incidents like this are a reminder that workplace disputes tied to personal relationships can quickly escalate—and that early intervention, documentation, and protective orders can help prevent a bad situation from turning worse.
