Tool thieves kept pretty busy targeting multiple homes and businesses. Just after 9:30 am, deputies responded to a house in the middle of a renovation on County Road 51. A man said someone cut a screen on a window, climbed into the house and helped themselves to multiple tools. Officers couldn’t lift any fingerprints off the window, but did take information for a theft report.
At 5 pm, another Lawrence County resident called in deputies to report someone broke into his father’s business and stole a nail gun, framer gun, drill compressor, saw, trim gun, roofing gun, and siding gun. They said this was the third time crooks hit the building.
Someone had cut the wires to the cameras, so there was no footage of the incident. The estimated value of the tools was $5000.
Another resident reported someone had broken into their garage and stolen a cordless saw, router, power drills, DVR for her security cameras, battery chargers, games, fishing pole, and kayak. The thieves had walked through some wet sealer on the floor and left a footprint. Officers took information for a report.
