Court records offer new insight into the victim in the case of a man and woman charged with multiple accounts of felonious assault and child abuse.
According to details in the case docket, the victim was just four months old, and the adults accused of assaulting the child were only 18. During a preliminary hearing, the prosecutor’s office was granted a subpoena to look at the child’s medical record, and defendants Hunter Sturgill and Rachel Elliot’s cases were waived to the Scioto County Grand Jury.

Sturgill and Elliot, both 18 and both of the same Minford address, were arrested back on June 28 and charged with three counts of child abuse, one count of endangering children, and three counts of felonious assault where the victim was seriously harmed.
Officials have released no other details in the case but may offer more information if the grand jury returns an indictment.
Both Sturgill and Elliot remain in the Scioto County Jail.
