Deputies arrested Smith, 32, back in October after a juvenile contacted police and informed them that Smith had been sexually assaulting her since she was 14.
Pike County Children Services assisted with removing the girl from the home. Personnel conducted a forensic interview and determined there was enough evidence to arrest Mr. Smith and charge him with:
- Rape
- Illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material
- Gross sexual imposition
- Pandering Obscenity involving a minor
- Endangering children
Deputies transported Ms. Smith to the Pike County Sheriff Office and later to the Butler County Jail. On Monday, December 21, a court set her bond at $41,500. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office said the children involved in the child rape case are now safe.
Ms. Smith isn’t the only arrest this month involving sex crimes against kids.
Caught With Teen Runaway
Back on December 2, deputies arrested Jacob M. Brigner, of Horton Road in Beaver on multiple charges including:
- Pandering Obscenities Harmful to Juveniles
- Child Endangerment
According to the Pike County Sheriff’s office, the initial report came in back in September. The report said Brigner, 32, sent pornographic videos and images to a juvenile. Deputies discovered Brigner in a camper with the runaway girl. Law enforcement returned her to her parents and took Brigner to the station for an interview. Authorities later booked him into the Butler County Jail.
The court set his bond at $84,500.
