Portsmouth Police responded to the Scioto Trail Animal Clinic at 11:30 am after employees reported an angry woman at the facility. They said the woman was demanding to be seen now and had refused to leave when told they couldn’t do a walk-in. She began yelling at staff members.
When officers arrived, they learned she was angry about the cost of an emergency vet visit because the clinic didn’t take walk-ins. Police spoke to the woman, and she called for a taxi and left.
Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Shawnee Animal Clinic at 2:40 pm for a report of a woman causing a scene at the facility. Employees thought she was having a panic attack.
Deputies requested that an ambulance stand by but said the woman seemed cooperative once they spoke to her. She said she’d been waiting over two hours for a taxi that hadn’t arrived. Deputies spoke to the cab company, and they said they had a taxi on the way.
