A woman stabbed a pit bull she claimed attacked her dog, but the situation took a twist when officers told her she was required to take the animal to the vet for treatment.
It all started when a woman called 911 to say a pit bull was in her house attacking her dog and that she was forced to stab the pit bull to separate them.
When officers, the Scioto County Dog Warden, and a humane agent arrived at the scene, they learned that the woman was watching her friend’s pit bull when it attacked her dog.
The dog warden told the woman she was required to take the injured pit bull to the vet since the dog was under her care at the time of the attack. At first, the woman refused but later agreed to find care for the dog when officers explained she could face animal cruelty charges.
A deputy offered to carry the dog to the woman’s car, but she said the dog could walk on its own. Officers warned the woman they would return soon to make sure she actually took the animal to see a vet.
