A young teen is in big trouble after hitting his mother after she took away his phone and Internet.
She explained that she caught him smoking a cigarette and grounded him from his phone and the Internet. The boy then flipped out and tried to jump out of a window. When she tried to stop him, he pushed and shoved her as she tried to stop him from leaving their Coal Grove home before he ran away.
Officers patrolled the surrounding area for several hours but did not locate the boy until his father called them. The dad said the boy had several cuts and scratches on him, and he wanted CPS to investigate.
The father said the boy’s brother had already been removed from her care due to the abusive behavior of her boyfriend. Officers said they would also inform CPS of the incident.
When police took the boy into custody, he said his mother caught him with a lighter and made “a way bigger deal than it needed to be” and slapped him when he tried to leave the house. He did admit to shoving his mother.
Officers booked him into the Lawrence County Juvenile Detention Center for domestic violence.
