20 Christmas Presents That Teenagers Do NOT Want

1. A Board Game

Teenagers are not going to like this game at all. No one wants to play board games at Christmas. If you give a board game to a teenager, don’t expect them to play it.

2. A Doll

Teens don’t want dolls unless it’s a super rare or nostalgic collector’s item. Overall, don’t get your teen a doll for Christmas.

3. Jewelry

Teenagers like to have fun jewelry, but they don’t want their parents buying them jewelry. Teenagers don’t want to have anything on their bodies except for clothes. The last thing your teenage daughter or son wants is jewelry all over them.

4. A Desktop Computer

This computer does not offer much technology. It does not have a lot of technology, either. This computer is a gift that your teenager will not use. Teens do not want anything to do with a desktop computer.

5. Anything With a Picture on It

This picture of a mountain or an elephant or a sunset will probably not appeal to your teenager. Teens want to get back to their smartphones. If they see something they really want, they can order it on dozens of different apps.

6. Cookware

Teens will be more interested in food than cooking pans and cooking utensils. Teens like to eat. Teens do not like to cook. Teens don’t want to know how to make a perfectly baked loaf of bread.

7. A Camera

One word, their phone. Those devices have more packed into them than the Apollo Rockets. Plus, there are a ton of apps to help them edit and do all kinds of nutty things to the photos.

8. An Electric Toothbrush

Teens don’t want an electric toothbrush. Teens want their old manual toothbrush. Teens aren’t amazed by the ultrasonic, plaque busting, midnight infomercial set that we all just can’t live without.

9. High Heels

Teenagers do not want high heels. Teens like to wear flip-flops, sandals, and any low maintenance footwear.  Most teens like to prefer cheap shoes that they can easily replace when the mood strikes them.

10. A Bag

Teens want to carry their stuff with them in their pockets. Teens do not need to carry a bag to carry their stuff. Don’t get your teenager a bag for Christmas.

11. DVDs

Teens like to watch videos on their phones. They stream, twitch, and all those strange words we don’t know. Teens love the ability to watch movies and series when they want to.

12. A Media Monstrosity

The amazing box sets of music or TV series were a huge thing for many years. Now, they have fallen out of favor. They are expensive and will just sit on the shelf making you mad for the rest of the year.

13. A Bathrobe

Those days are over. Way over. Along with matching pajama sets, embroidered pillows, and huggie pillows. Forget about it.

14. Ties

Teens don’t wear ties. They have a jacket and some jeans. Teens don’t need a tie, and they don’t want to wear one.

15. Luxury Bath Items

Teens are not interested in luxury bath products like the amazing waterproof radio, the shower head that lights up, etc. However, there is an item called a “Smart Mirror” that they will love, but they are not cheap.

16. A Bean Bag Chair

You can get a bean bag chair for cheap. You can even buy one for a lot less than $100. We loved them. They don’t. Sorry, Bean Bag Chair salespeople.

17. A Fanny Pack

No. Just, no. They weren’t cool when they were “trending”.  Every movie that shows a character that is totally out of touch with their surroundings all have one thing in common, they’re wearing a fanny pack. So, that’s a good hint.

18. A Suitcase

Teens like to travel light. Those that fly always use carry on so they don’t risk baggage ending up in Shreveport when they are in Daytona.

19. Engraved Candles

We will never know why anyone wants a candle that says “sparkle”. Wax melts are still in. Incense sticks, well those are for special occasions that probably aren’t allowed in your house.

20. Coffee Machines

Teens do like coffee more than we did at that age. But, don’t buy them a coffee maker. They will be thrilled with a Keurig machine. They will enjoy trying all the different flavor combinations that seem to be coming out each month.
