A chase that started with Kentucky law enforcement ended in Portsmouth after a red Dodge Ram crossed the bridge into Ohio.
According to the Portsmouth police log, a South Shore unit followed the vehicle over the bridge after Greenup County had reportedly been in pursuit for reckless operation.
The vehicle came into Portsmouth, turned onto local streets, and eventually stopped in the 2100 block of Charles Street.
Portsmouth police said their officers were not in pursuit.
Instead, PPD officers detained the female driver after she stopped the vehicle.
Officers later learned she had an active warrant through the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported to the Scioto County Jail on that warrant.
Police said South Shore will handle any charges connected to the pursuit.
Ted’s Towing responded to the scene, and the vehicle was taken to impound.
No additional charges from Portsmouth police were listed in the information provided.
