A red vehicle driving on the bike path toward the Grant Bridge caught the attention of Shawnee State University Police and ended with a man going to jail on two warrants.
SSU officers contacted Portsmouth police while following the vehicle along the bike path.
By shortly before 7 p.m., one man was in custody.
Police had Brady’s Towing remove the vehicle while officers transported the man to the station.
He was later booked into the Scioto County Jail on two probation-violation warrants.
The available report does not explain why the vehicle was being driven on the bike path in the first place or whether the driver received any additional citation for that.
So the unusual sight of a red vehicle cruising down a path meant for bikes and pedestrians ended with police catching up to a man who already had two reasons to avoid them.
