Portsmouth, Ohio Police are looking for a suspect in a weekend murder. They already have one man in custody. Portsmouth Police arrested a Franklin Furnace Ohio man for the Labor Day Weekend murder of a Portsmouth, Ohio man. Officers said they are still searching for another suspect in the case. Derick R. Holsinger, 33, was found dead inside an apartment in Wayne Hills on Saturday.
Wanted: Anthony Louderback
Portsmouth Police are searching for Anthony L. Louderback. PPD said Louderback has active warrants for his arrest from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections and Portsmouth Municipal Court.
Investigators want to talk to him about possible involvement in Holsinger’s murder. They say he is considered armed and dangerous. PPD asked that anyone with information on his whereabouts contact their local law enforcement or call Portsmouth Police Dispatch Center at 740-353-4101.
Benny Kilgore Arrested
Police already arrested Benny R. Kilgore, 38, of Franklin Furnace and charged him with murder.
A quick check of Portsmouth Municipal Court records shows that Kilgore has been before a judge over a dozen times including charges of:
- aggravated Robbery
- unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
- fugitive from justice
- suspicion of OVI
- falsification
Search At The Royal Inn
Police obscured the name of the suspect on the official log. Therefore, we cannot say definitely say it’s connected with the Holsinger murder until we have confirmation from police.
The New Boston Officer didn’t have probable cause for a stop and his lieutenant told him to back off. Multiple PPD units caught up with the vehicle at the Royal Inn a few minutes later. Police arrested the unidentified man. Officers arrested a man on an existing bench warrant and took him to jail. They also dropped a woman off in Franklin Furnace.
The executed a search warrant on a motel room and the vehicle. Officers were at the Royal Inn for nine hours.
