Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman reported that the 9-1-1 communication center received a call requesting an ambulance for someone who had been shot. This incident occurred on 410 Straight Fork Road in West Portsmouth, Ohio.
Deputies, detectives, and emergency medical crews responded to the location, according to Sheriff Thoroughman. Upon arrival, deputies discovered one victim with a gunshot wound.
Rodney A. Queen, age 57, of 410 Straight Fork Road West Portsmouth, Ohio has been identified as the victim. He was flown to Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia, where he was listed in critical condition.
As a result of this investigation, one male was arrested, said Sheriff Thoroughman. At a later date, more charges may be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury as part of this ongoing investigation.
A 53-year-old man, also from 410 Straight Fork Road West Portsmouth, Terry A. Jewell, was arrested. Jewell has been charged with one count of Felonious Assault, a felony of the 2nd degree, and one count of Weapons Under Disability, a felony of the 3rd degree. Jewell is currently being held in the Scioto County jail on a $100,000.00 bond.
