The residents of Scioto County continue to deal with the ongoing ambulance shortage. Despite all efforts, they still have reasons to be very concerned over this ongoing public safety issue.
At 9:27 pm, a Lucasville resident called 9-1-1 reporting chest pains. With no squads available, dispatch contacted Portsmouth Ambulance at 9:35.
At 10:10, the man’s family called in and said they would drive him to the hospital since an ambulance had still not arrived.
Another call for help went unanswered just before 4:30 am. A 62-year-old woman fell, and a squad responded to the scene to assist. However, they needed additional help to get the woman up.
Dispatch sent out a request for help at 4:41 am, 4:59 am, at 5:06 am, before receiving an acknowledgment. However, the EMS worker already on the scene was able to get the woman up without assistance.
